in discounted long distance calling. Some of these telephone discounting
companies such as Capsule Communications (The old USWats Company), AireSpring, Unitel Long distance and Pioneer Telephone offer state to state discount long distance service starting at only 3.9¢
per minute with 6 second billing. These long distance discounters can save you
over
60% on your long distance phone bills compared to the big three long distance

While 3.9¢ is a great discount long distance phone rate, if you are willing
to pay for your long distance telephone service with a credit card, Global Fibernet has a 3.25¢ plan with no monthly fee and 60 second billing. Pioneer long distance isn't far behind, with a 3.3¢ plan of their own. While Pioneer's long
distance plan is also billed in 60 second increments, their international long

If you have lots of friends and relatives who you can get to switch also, think
about switching to Pioneer Telephone. Pioneer Telephone offers state to state calling to other Pioneer
Telephone customers, for 2.5¢ per minute. This account will also work between satellite offices, so why buy a T1, when
you can get almost T1 rates, without the equipment costs or monthly

Dedicated long distance service has a lower per minute rate, because a dedicated
long distance line bypasses your local telephone company. Normally, each long
distance telephone call creates charges with your local telephone company, your
long distance telephone company and the local telephone company on the other
end of the call. By bypassing your local telephone company, you don't have to
pay them to connect your long distance call, thereby saving you money on each
and every long distance call.
While the cheapest long distance rates for switched service are still at
3.5¢ per minute or more, you can get dedicated long distance telephone
service for
2.3¢ per minute with a $500.00 minimum monthly contract, all the way down
to 1.9¢ per minute for accounts with a 3-year contract and monthly
minimums of $1,000.00.
